Understand the basic principles behind Move In Mind™ method.
What is Rolfing?
Rolfing® Structural Integration is a process of working on the body originally developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf (1896–1979) as Structural Integration. It involves an intense manual treatment of connective tissues (fascia) by combining movement and cultivating self-perception. It aims at re-establishing balance in the body structure in relation to gravity, by restoring a functional relationship between the various parts of the body.
Structural Integration consists of a series of one on one sessions lasting about one hour/one hour and a half, aimed at restoring the faculty of self-support and orientation in space, reducing or eliminating those body tissue restrictions and dysfunctional posture/movement habits which might give rise to various kinds of physical discomfort affecting muscles, bones, joints, and internal organs, and even influence moods and psychological conditions in general terms.
I do not currently practice as a Rolfer. If you are interested in Rolfing sessions, I recommend finding a practitioner in your area.
